Three sizes are available in the range – 14″, 17″ and 20″. All share essentially the same specification.
All are powered by the same powerful 3hp 4-stroke Kawasaki engine with recoil starter. This drive system let you stop the blades when emptying the grass box or using the power to move around you garden. In addition you can take the roller out of drive for manoeuvring around trees or into confined corners. A centrifugal clutch is fitted to protect the system.
The standard option is a six-blade cylinder which produces a superb cut. Those who crave absolute perfection can opt for the ten-blade cutting cylinder instead for a flawless finish. Atco mowers clever QX system allows you to change the blade cylinder for a scarifier module which instantly gives you a powered lawn rake. The cutting height can be adjusted from 6 to 36 mm.
Cutting efficiency is improved by the spring-tine comb which lifts any compressed grass into the blades, and the beautiful stripes are enhanced by the stainless front roller and heavy steel roller at the back. Both 17″ and 20″ models feature a split rear roller with differential drive. This aids manoeuvrability and minimises damage to the lawn when cornering – great attention to detail.
If your grass has got a bit long, you can fit the side wheels (supplied) to lift up the mower to make the job easier.
The grassboxes are made in impact-resistant polypropylene to keep weight down and all have great capacity.
As you would expect, there is a great warranty on the Atco Balmoral range, of 3 years for parts and 2 years for engine and labour.
