Yemeni parties and organization launched on Monday a solidarity week supporting Sheikh Mohammad Al-Moayad and his aid, Mohammad Zayed, captured in US since 2003.
In the solidarity week, sponsored by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussain Al-Ahmer, the speaker of parliament, many of popular organizations, press and media representatives attended the gathering.
All of them demanded to free Al-Moayad and Zayed promptly.
In the meeting, Sheikh Al-Ahmer assured that Al-moayad and Zayed release well enhance ties between America and Yemeni people.
Meanwhile, politicians and activist confirmed that there is consensus of Al-Moayad and Zayed innocence.
This meeting is held before 3 days Brooklyn court issue to its sentence against Al-Moayad and Zayed who the jury had acquitted them of supporting Al-Qaida.
From his said , Sheikh Hamoud Altharihi , the head of the popular committee to defend about Al-Moayad and Zayed , expressed his hope that the American Administration will take into consideration the feeling of Yemeni people and the national consensus with Al-Moayad and Zayed and release them particularly when Al-Moayad and Zayed were acquitted of supporting of Al-Qaida, pointing out that there is contacts between the Yemeni president and US to free Al-Moayad and Zayed .
According to Aldharihi, Al-Moayad and Zayed were subjected to spycological pressure by American investigators who tried to persuade them to work with them, but they rejected strongly and that what made American doubled restrictions on them.
Meanwhile, Al-Moayad's lawyer khalid Alanisi uncovered suffer much of hard condition in they face in the prison. He said that they are captured in a cell in the mineth storey that can get out from only on hour a day and don't meet or mix with others.
Alanisi emphasized that the two Yemeni prisoners are deprived of all their rights guaranteed by the American constitution , indicating that their detention condition became harder lately to the extent that their lawyers disapproved those condition saying " If Ossama bin laden was captured , he will not face worse than this mistreatment . Alanisi also asserted that Al-Moayad and Zayed case is considered a kind of American domination on states regarding the lure and capture ways of Al-Moayad absolutely illegal. He stressed on the importance of solidarity with Al_Moayad and his aide who had rejected terror early and their slogan was constantly "poverty is terrorism " adding "American Authorities joined Al-Moayad and Zayed's names to the list of politician detainees after they were among terrorist list. However , American and Arab Organizations will defend about Al-Moayad on front of the Brooklyn Court on Thursday , the day of declaration of the sentence against Al-Moayad and his aide . |
